Come and discover the High Fens

The natural reserve of the High Fens is located at the highest point in Belgium.  Covering more than 4300 ha, it the largest natural reserve in Belgium providing protection to animals, plants and fauna. Rather than being Fens as the name suggest, the High Fens include alpine bogs,  forests and valleys that can be enjoyed by  both kids and adults in the summer and winter.

4 walks have been created specifically for you around the brewery. During your hiking, you will have the possibility to admire the beautiful landscapes, pick blueberries and if you are lucky, see of a deer or weasel.

Following the fires that affected the High Fens in August 2026, we have reviewed and adapted our walking routes. The routes we currently offer do not pass through any affected areas or zones considered to be at risk. Nature remains fragile, however, so we ask everyone to act responsibly, stay on the paths and help protect the environment.

Two of our usual walks remain accessible: the Triple and the Scotch. Two new routes have also been added: the Zest and the Hazy.

So you can continue to enjoy the High Fens while respecting the areas affected by the fires.

• The Scotch - 6,7 km: Walk along the Ghâster, go up the Bayehon and its waterfall, then cross the Fagne behind the brewery by taking muddy, slippery and technical paths (roots, stones, swamps and duckboards).

• The Triple - 11,5 km: Walk along the Ghaster, Bayehon and Warche rivers. Magnificent view of Reinhardstein Castle. 1st part muddy, technical and very physical, 2nd through the village of Ovifat and the fields.
